$ Quinny Zapp 4 Travel System

We've been using this system for 6 months now, and although we think it is great for traveling, it does have some serious shortcomings. First the positive:

- The colors and overall design is fun and vibrant. We get a lot of complements.

- The design is ultra compact. The stroller part can fit easily into the trunk, or even the floor of the car.

- The covers are easy to remove and wash. The material and padding is comfortable, and the infant car seat allows for adjusting the shoulder and head cushions as your child grows.

- The infant car seat has rockers on the bottom- perfect for lulling your infant back to sleep when you've moved from car to restaurant.

-The canopy has flaps that you can open so your baby can look out as you walk around.

- The convertibility is a huge plus. Being able to unlatch the car seat and stick it onto the stroller is super convenient.

Now the negative:

- The stroller is difficult to collapse. It takes getting familiar with the product to get it just right.

- The canopy on the infant car seat is a bit short. It only shades against the sun if the light is coming from behind. We are constantly throwing a blanket over the visor to shield against the sun.

- There is NO STORAGE. No cupholders, no hooks, nothing. Even the basket provided hooks onto the stroller seat and cannot be used when you have the infant car seat latched onto the stroller. We were in such need of something that we use the basket anyway, even though the front of it hangs out. We also sometimes hook things onto the handles, but if the item is too heavy, it can easily tip the stroller over. We only do this when someone is holding the handles at the same time.

- All the latches take a bit muscling to open. We wish it had a smoother latch operation. This includes the latch to pull the car seat off the base, as well as the latch to collapse the stroller. The hardest latch is the one to pull the car seat off the stroller. We have yet to unlatch and pull off the car seat from the stroller base in one smooth movement. This is so difficult that really only people regularly using the stroller can figure it out.

- The infant car seat latches onto two prongs on the stroller. This takes precision to get it right, and when you are holding a car seat with your (heavy) baby in it, it can really be a dangerous and back-breaking experience. I spoke about the difficulty of pulling off the car seat, but putting on the car seat is equally as difficult and dangerous. You have to align the side of the car seat with prongs on the side of the stroller. Often times, one side clicks in, and then you have to balance the car seat while trying to force the other side in.

All in all, we wish that Maxi Cosi could just work out the kinks so that the product has smoother operation. Until then, this product would be a great system for traveling, but not so great for daily use. The latch system is so difficult, I would advise anyone who has back problems against buying this product.
